LAGOS CITY POLYTECHNIC SET TO LAUNCH E-LEARNING PORTAL
Lagos City Polytechnic has developed an Online Learning Management System to help Lagos City Polytechnic students and lecturers continue examination preparation & revision, classes during the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdowns.
A team of IT experts developed the platform on the existing e-Student system; this will allow students and teachers to continue examination preparation & revision, classes online from wherever they can connect to the internet.
The institution’s webpage, which was originally used for admissions, registration, adding and dropping courses, and news management, now features an online learning platform that is available to all students.
Currently, the platform offers over 500 to 1000 courses, which include courses from the departments of Accountancy, Business Administration & Management, Office Technology & Management, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Statistics with Computer Science, Computer Engineering (Full Time Only), among others.
With the Lagos City Polytechnic Online Learning Management System upgrade, lecturers and students of the institution are set to benefit immensely. This is in line with the recently released guidelines by the country’s Federal Ministry of Education, which provided that schools, “Conduct online training that not only prepares teachers to teach in a way that safeguards the health, safety, and security of the learners but also enables them to facilitate learning using 21st century pedagogy based on ICT.”
The e-Learning platform, which is set to be deployed once it goes through its testing stage is designed to assist a physical classroom lectures and would ensure that lectures are available to students at all times. For more information, visit the official website of the Lagos City Polytechnic.
