I look forward to a bright and promising future for Lagos City Polytechnic as we embark on the challenges presented by the new millennium. To meet those challenges, we have set forth a new vision for the Polytechnic: Lagos City Polytechnic will excel as a nationally recognized intellectually vibrant institution which is accessible, community centered, technologically advanced and responsive to the educational needs of a richly diverse population and workforce.
Lagos City Polytechnic, founded in the belief that all people are enriched by understanding, is dedicated to the advancement of learning and the search for truth; to the sharing of this knowledge through education for a diverse community; and to the application of this knowledge to benefit the people of Nigeria and the world.
Our pursuit of this vision is threefold:
Research and Discovery – Generate and preserve knowledge, understanding, creativity by conducting high-quality research, scholarship, and communities across the state, the nation, and the world.
Teaching and Learning – Share the knowledge, understanding, and creativity by providing a broad range of educational programs in a strong and diverse community of learners and teachers, and prepare graduate and professional in life long learning, for active roles in a multiracial and multicultural world.
Achieving Academic Success – For many students the first semester of study is a time to explore their interests and abilities. With careful planning, students can explore their interest and denounce all antisocial vices such as cultism, hooliganism, thuggery and this is the time to put the youthful exuberance into action and transform it for positive academic success.
